Leg day!

I had THE best leg day just last week so I wanted to share with you my workout.  I used to hate training legs but only because I had some issues with my glute.  I had a lot of pain while squatting up until August 2012.  After 7 ART treatments I am squatting pain-free!  WHoop WHoop!!

Right now during my offseason I am training with high volume and intensity.  I’m trying to pack on some muscle and gain as much strength as I can as this is near to impossible while dieting for a show.  I split out hamstrings on Monday and then hammer legs on Friday.  I am always trying for new personal bests which I am proud to say has happened and I am stoked about that!!  I love how strong my legs have become.  Not only can I feel the increase in strength but over the last year and half I have seen amazing gains in my legs and glutes which is what I need for my show!

Here is the breakdown:

Leg press 1 set Warmup, 4 sets x 8-10reps

Full squat 3 sets x 8-12reps (ass to grass, so the volume may not be as heavy)

BB deadlift 3 sets x 8-10reps

Leg extension super set with bulgarian split squat 3 sets x 8-12reps

Leg curl 3 sets x 8-10reps

Leg press straight legged calf raises 3-4 sets x 10-15reps

It was an impressive workout mostly because I trained with a client that day.  We rested but the intensity was insane!  I love those type of workouts.  Walking away was a chore!  Goal was to hit some personal bests which we did and goal was to walk away, legs full and sore!  Goal achieved!

Always push your limits.  Don’t just walk into a workout and go thru the motions…make sure you show up and LIFT THAT SHIT!!  Gains come from intensity and hard work and discipline…HAPPY TRAINING 🙂
